Ways to get away those Wrinkles from your Favorite Leather Coat

  • By chris

Wrinkles on the leather coats are the common problem that most of the fashion fads have to face. If you are going through similar crisis, then here are some useful ideas to remove wrinkles from your leather coats. A leather coat is a common closet staple for the fall wardrobe today. Leather itself adds style, no matter how and with what you blend it with. It is fashionable yet delicate and expensive too, thus it is extremely essential to handle it with intense care, especially when it gets wrinkles. So as to make this durable material last for longer time, you need to follow some special tips to diminish those wrinkles. However, before eliminating them, you need to clean the leather coat lightly so as to avert trappings of dust elements.

  • Lay the coat properly over the ironing board. Making use of damp cloth, lightly wipe the coat.  Heed little more attention to the zippers, lace or buttons that often attract dust particles. Now, absorb the moisture from your overcoat by patting them with a dry cloth.
  • Sprinkle some baby powder on the leather coat to fence off the pores. Further, polish it with dry clean cloth so as reinstate the natural sheen of leather material.
  • Turn on the heather setting of your shower and place the coat carefully in a tough hanger. Before that, close all the zippers and buttons to avert the coat from falling down from the hanger.
  • Hang the coat close to the shower but make sure that it is not placed directly under the shower or somewhere that may make the coat wet. Shut all the doors in your washroom so that the steam gets accumulated in the shower room and allow it to hang for about ten minutes.
  • Set the iron to get warm.  After 10-12 minutes put the power off the shower and remove the leather coat. Now, you need to place a brown paper bag over the ironing board so as to protect your coat. Then lay the coat over it. Wrap the coat with another layer of paper. Further you step ahead towards ironing the coat provided it is carefully covered with the brown paper bag.
  • Once you have done with the ironing part, hang it again on the hanger and softly pull down the jacket to flat and smoothen the surface and remove any minor wrinkles.
