Renew your Classy Leather Outfit by Re-Dying It
Using the leather clothes again and again or wearing it continuously under the sunlight might fade its original color. To get back its original classy shade, you can trickily re-dye it with the color of your choice.
Leather outfits like dresses, jackets, pants or shorts tends to change their color in exposed to sunlight for long time. Thus it is always advisable to keep your exclusive leather appeals away from the reach of sunlight. Tips to re-dye leather outfits:-
- With the use of lukewarm water and saddle soap, clean the garb completely and allow it to dry. Ensure that it is out from the reach of direct sun.
- Remove all the stains. Avoid using oil while cleaning, as it stains can weaker the fabric making the stitches to lose. Take one part of tartar cream and lemon juice, rub the mixture with clean cloth and allow it to stay on the fabric for an hour. By using a damp cloth, blot off the mixture and repeat the same technique as many times you think it is required. Now remove the stains caused by minerals and salts by adding the mixture of white vinegar and water in same proportion into the marks. The spots can also be removed by evaporating the spots by using hair dryer at dim setting.
- Now, apply the leather dye on the outfit with the help of acrylic brush. Remember, always dye the edges of the apparels and later shift to the middle body. A star patterned shape brush can be used for efficiently stroking the dye onto the apparel. See that the dyeing is done in a similar pattern so that the patches don’t remain on the cloth.
- Apply saddle soap, wax or leather polish and buff it gently with a clean and dry cloth. Remove the extra dye if any with the help of lint free cloth.
